"Contact Energy has taken a swipe at rival Meridian, saying if the state-owned giant was open to the scrutiny it faces, the $169 million Mill Creek wind farm would probably still be on the drawing board. Speaking after the company's annual meeting in Auckland yesterday, Contact chief executive Dennis Barnes said the mixed ownership model, which could see 49 per cent of Meridian sold to private investors, would add significant oversight to decision making. In June, Meridian confirmed it would go ahead with building Mill Creek, a 26-turbine wind farm in the Ohariu Valley, near Wellington"
