"A dry start to the year in the South Island saw the ratio of electricity produced from renewable sources drop to a five-year low, but generators are hoping new geothermal facilities can help blunt future supply crunches. The latest figures from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment show 64 per cent of New Zealand's electricity produced in the second quarter came from geothermal, hydro, wind and other sources. That's the lowest level since June 2008"
