Royal Society NZ advocates marine resource understanding

"A lack of research into this country's marine resources makes it difficult to see how any of them could be effectively managed, the Royal Society of New Zealand says.

The developing understanding of New Zealand ocean energy, minerals and petroleum, ecosystems and biodiversity all suggested more potential sources of wealth were present in the oceans, the society said in a paper on future marine resource use.
