"Christchurch building developers are being offered grants of up to $5000 for an energy efficiency review.

A new programme was launched yesterday enabling building developers to have their building concept plans reviewed by an energy efficiency design expert.

The programme, called Energyfirst, is jointly funded by the Christchurch Agency for Energy (Cafe), and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).

It is aimed at supporting those leading the rebuild of commercial buildings in the city.

The programme will provide access to experts who will work with building owners, investors and their architects to improve the energy efficiency of their designs at the concept stage"
