Lignite to woodchip fuel switch for Invercargill pool

If the pool was covered when it was not being used, there would be a considerable saving on energy, he said.

Council building assets manager Paul Horner said using woodchips would be cleaner, emitting one eighth of the ash of lignite.

If lignite was kept on, it was likely a chimney filter would be required by law in the future, which would cost considerably more than using chips, he said"
