"As a result of a Unison audit, it was discovered that Diggle, from Hastings, was ineligible for the plan he was on because his hot-water heater was not powered by electricity and could not to be switched off by Unison during power usage spikes. Contact told him he was being moved from an "all-day economy plan" to a more expensive "anytime" plan because the all-day plan can "only be applied to properties with electric water-heating cylinders or other permanently wired equipment that can be turned off by the network company". Diggle says: "I will have a rate increase because Unison cannot control my electrical heating when I don't have any in the first place. How crazy and rapacious is that?" |
